(Recreational Offshore Landing Permit)

LDWF developed the Recreational Offshore Landings Permit (ROLP) to better quantify and characterize the charter captains and recreational fishermen that fish beyond Louisiana’s territorial waters. Recreational fishermen and charter captains are required to obtain this permit (free of charge) to possess tunas, billfish, swordfish, amberjacks, groupers, snappers, hinds, cobia, wahoo and dolphin. Minors (under 16) and customers on a paid for-hire charter trip are not required to obtain an ROLP. Fishermen and captains can obtain or renew an ROLP either through the ROLP app or the ROLP website.

WMA Check-in/ Check-out App

LDWF’s Wildlife Management Area (WMA) System makes public lands available for recreation across the state. WMA users can use the WMA Check-in/Check-out App to complete the required Self-Clearing Permit process from their mobile device. While physical Self-Clearing Permit stations are available on our WMAs, LDWF offers this convenient mobile option to provide easy compliance with the Self-Clearing Permit process. Users also can check in and out via this app or the check-in/check-out web portal when they visit a WMA.
