Louisiana Artificial Reef Development Council

The Louisiana Artificial Reef Development Council (Artificial Reef Council) was created by the Louisiana Fishing Enhancement Act (La. RS 56:639.6) to provide guidance to the Department on policy and procedural matters concerning the Artificial Reef Program. The Artificial Reef Council is composed of the secretary of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Dean of the LSU College of the Coast & Environment, and the executive director of Sea Grant, or their designees.

The current members are:
Patrick Banks, Assistant Secretary, Office of Fisheries, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (designated by Secretary Jack Montoucet)
Christopher D’Elia, Dean of the LSU College of the Coast & Environment
Robert Twilley, Executive Director of Louisiana Sea Grant
