LDWF biologists are afforded unique career opportunities. The department manages approximately 1.5 million acres of fish and wildlife habitat and in its wildlife management area and refuge system. Management and preservation programs provide a wide range of opportunities for trappers and hunters. In coastal areas, the lands also function as nursery grounds for the fisheries industry. The biologist?s principle role is conducting biological research, management, conservation and development that enhances or restores the renewable wildlife resources of the state.
