The southern toad is found throughout the Florida parishes.

American Toad (Bufo americanus)

The American toad is found in the northwestern portion of the Florida parishes and possibly in northern Louisiana.
call
These two toad species produce longer, more musical trills than those of gray treefrogs. The southern toad's trill, heard in spring and summer, is typically shorter and higher-pitched than the American toad which is a late winter, early spring breeder.
