Trip Ticket

About the Trip Ticket Program

When an individual purchases a Wholesale/Retail Seafood License, Fresh Product License, or Crab Shedders License they are required by law to report sales to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Trip Ticket Program.  These individuals will participate in a short training session which covers the reporting requirements and proper procedures for filling out trip tickets, monthly submission sheets and crab shedder sheets.

The Department provides all the trip ticket forms, monthly submission sheets and crab shedder sheets to dealers at no cost, but obtaining these forms is the responsibility of the dealer.  Trip tickets are assigned to a dealer and cannot be shared.  Because it is the legal responsibility of the dealer to report all transactions, dealers cannot wait until they run out of forms before requesting new forms and a 6-month supply of forms is recommended. All trip tickets and monthly submission sheets must be submitted in their original form and blue or black ink.  The Department cannot accept copies.

Contact LDWF

To request more forms a dealer can contact the Department at (225)763-3588 during regular working hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm).  If help or other information is needed on how to fill out the forms, a dealer can contact the department at (225)765-2399 during regular working hours.  Trip tickets and monthly submission are due by the 10th of the month for the preceding month and should be sent to:

Electronic Trip Ticket Program

The Department also makes available, at no cost, a computerized trip ticket data entry software to whole/sale retail dealers.  The electronic trip ticket program has many benefits; it completely replaces the paper ticket system, electronically collects and sends all information required by the state, tracks all monies owed and paid to fishermen, tracks deductions, generates reports and prints checks and exports data.

If you are interested in using computer software to electronically enter and submit trip ticket information, please contact:
