Grand Total Fish Stocking Request-2006- (REVISED) 33,924,205

DISTRIBUTION PROCEDURES FOR STOCKING FLORIDA LARGEMOUTH BASS

  • The Hatchery Manager will fulfill request from hurricane impacted areas first. Biologist Managers must contact the Hatchery Manager and Regional Program Manager as soon as it is determined that water quality in the hurricanes impacted waterbody is suitable for freshwater species and there is an adequate abundance of forage species to sustain largemouth bass. The Hatchery Manager will then place that waterbody on the stocking schedule list to be stocked.
  • If hurricane impacted areas are not suitable for stocking and fish are ready to be stocked; the Hatchery Manager will proceed to fulfill request for other waterbodies. As a hurricane impacted waterbody becomes suitable for stocking the Hatchery Manager will schedule stocking for those areas.
  • The Hatchery Manager has authority to limit the number of fish placed in a waterbody based on the need to maximize the number of waterbodies stocked.
