Nuisance Hog Seminar

The LDWF will sponsor a Wild hog related seminar at the LDWF Minden office on HWY 80, between Dixie Inn and Haughton.  There will be several speakers covering various topics.  Speakers include James LaCour (LDWF State Vet), Terry Conger (USDA APHIS), David Hayden (LDWF Biologist, Pineville office), Michael Beran (Nuisance Wildlife Cooperator – NWCO), LDWF Enforcement agent.

Topics are to include:

  • Hog Biology
  • Diseases
  • Hog related damage
  • Hog/Farmer/property owner conflicts
  • Hunting (both Day time and Night time)
  • Trapping
  • Laws regarding hunting, Night time laws and permit, and Free Ranging Stock Laws

There will also be various displays set up.  There will be traps, night hunting equipment, and a hog excluder pen for mechanical feeders.
