WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA SEASONS

Small Game (Squirrel, Rabbit, Quail, Mourning Dove, Woodcock, Snipe, Rail and Gallinule)
Same as outside EXCEPT closed during modern firearm either-sex deer seasons, EXCEPT consult regulations for Bodcau, Jackson Bienville and Sabine Island and EXCEPT all small game hunting closed on Tunica Hills and Alexander State Forest during the muzzleloader season. No hunting on unharvested agricultural fields (not including food plots) prior to November 15 on Red River and Ouachita WMAs. Consult the following WMA Hunting Schedules for exceptions or any other specific details. Also, see Atchafalaya Delta, Pass-a-Loutre, Pointe-au-Chenes and Salvador/Timken for additional information. Unless otherwise specified under the specific WMA hunting schedule, the use of dogs for rabbit, squirrel raccoon, and hog hunting is prohibited.

Waterfowl (Ducks, Geese and Coots)
Same as outside EXCEPT closed during modern firearm either-sex seasons. Waterfowl hunting will be allowed on Attakapas, Bodcau, Joyce and Salvador/Timken WMAs, Pintail Alley on Ouachita WMA, Pearl River south of Hwy. 90 and the South Farm Complex of Sherburne WMA during either-sex deer season. Hunting after 2 p.m. prohibited on all WMAs except on Atchafalaya Delta, Biloxi, Lake Boeuf, Pass-a-Loutre, Pointe-au-Chenes, Salvador/Timken and Wisner. Consult the specific WMA regulations for shooting hours on these WMAs. Consult the following WMA Hunting Schedules for exceptions or any other specific details, including Lottery Waterfowl Hunt requirements for Bayou Pierre and Sherburne WMAs.

Outlaw Quadrupeds and Birds (Coyotes, Armadillos, Crows, Blackbirds, Starlings, and Beavers)
During hunting seasons specified on WMAs, incidental take of outlaw quadrupeds and birds is allowed by properly licensed hunters and only with guns or bows and arrows legal for season in progress on WMA. However, crows, blackbirds, grackles and cowbirds may not be taken before Sept. 1 or after Jan. 1.
