All roads south of Louisiana Hwy. 15 on Russell Sage WMA to be closed Oct. 28-29

Oct. 26, 2017 – All roads south of Louisiana Highway 15 on Russell Sage Wildlife Management Area (WMA) will be closed Saturday (Oct. 28) beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 29), the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced. This portion of the WMA will be closed to allow the U.S. Army to conduct nighttime driver training exercises.

Russell Sage WMA consists of 38,213 acres in Ouachita Parish and is located about seven miles east of Monroe and 10 miles west of Rayville. The WMA can be accessed via U.S. Highway 80 and 165, Louisiana Highway 15 and Interstate 20. There are 12 self-clearing permit stations located at major entrances to the WMA.
