Hunt Road at Dewey W. Wills Wildlife Management Area Reopened

May 1, 2018 – Hunt Road at Dewey W. Wills Wildlife Management Area (WMA) has been reopened, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries announced. However, Sandy Bayou Road and Muddy Bayou Road at the WMA will remain closed until water levels at the Larto Lake gauge recede to 40.0 mean sea level.
 
The roads were closed due to flooding, following the High Water Benchmark Road Closure rule approved by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.

Dewey W. Wills WMA is located in the southern portion of LaSalle and Catahoula parishes in central Louisiana approximately 20 miles northeast of Alexandria. For more information on the WMA, go to: http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/2753 .
