Beyond BOW is sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Education Section. This program offers single topic or “mini-BOW” adventures.
Are You …
- Interested in becoming more active in the outdoors?
- Looking for new outdoor experiences?
- A graduate from the ranks of BOW looking for the next step in learning?
- And intermediate or advanced outdoors-woman who enjoys the camaraderie with like-minded individuals?
Beyond BOW is purposely designed for small groups. These smaller groups enable us to give greater one on one quality attention and instruction that fulfills the need of safety, education, and personal assurance in a non-threatening environment.
Natural resources scientist and founder of Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, Christine Thomas, documented that the most obvious problem of why women where not more involved in outdoor activities is because of the lack of instruction and encouragement. This program also focuses on the mission statement of LDWF as Beyond BOW encourages women to hunt, fish, participate, and enjoy the renewable natural resources and at the same time educate the next generation.
