Due to a formal request from the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) to St. Martin Parish Government, the Henderson Lake drawdown start date will be delayed to September 1, 2023, and will be extended through November 31, 2023. This request was based upon current implementation of the Henderson Lake Dixie Pipeline Spoil Bank Hydrologic Restoration Project.

CPRA said that if the drawdown were to begin on the originally planned start date of August 1, water elevation would drop to a level where the marsh buggy excavators could not cross the Enterprise Pipeline, and construction of the Henderson Lake Dixie Pipeline Spoil Bank Hydrologic Restoration Project would have to be suspended. Therefore, CPRA, St. Martin Parish officials, and LDWF biologists have agreed to postpone the drawdown.
