Fifteen staff members from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Hunter Education Program received certification in treestand safety from Treestand Manufacturer’s Association (TMA) recently.

The certification, offered through a grant by TMA and conducted at the Woodworth Outdoor Education Facility, will allow LDWF staff to enhance hunter education treestand safety to further reduce hunting incidents involving treestands in Louisiana.

TMA also donated three treestands, five full body harnesses and two treestand safety lines to LDWF for educational courses.
