With teal season set to begin Sept. 15, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) would like to remind Wildlife Management Area (WMA) users of new exhaust regulations for boats/power crafts utilized on WMAs.
As approved by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, factory original equipment manufacturer (OEM) installed or OEM equivalent exhausts are required for all boat/power craft motors operating on WMAs. Further, the operation of a power craft with an altered muffler or muffler cutout or in a manner that bypasses or reduces the effectiveness of the muffler system is prohibited on WMAs.
