Boater Education Class - St. Tammany

This free boating course usually lasts between 6 and 8 hours. Participants usually complete the course in one day. The course includes information on choosing a boat, classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, and related subjects that include canoeing, personal watercraft and more. Participants who complete the course will receive a Boater Education Certificate. Additional Information **This course will be held at the Brown Pelican Gym located within Pelican Park** All students will be required to bring their own lunch or have means to get lunch during a one hour break period. This course is required by law to be taken by any individual, born after January 1, 1984, who may find themselves operating a boat by themselves on Louisiana public waterways. The course includes information on classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, and personal watercraft. A permanent certification will be emailed to the email address used at registration in approximately 2 weeks.
