Flatwoods Savanna
Flatwoods Savanna WMA includes mature longleaf pine (Pinus palustris) savanna and sections suitable for longleaf pine reforestation. This is one of few sites in the state with mature longleaf pine flatwoods and largely intact flatwood ponds. Longleaf pine savannas provide habitat for many rare and globally significant species. This WMA will ensure that these sensitive habitats are preserved in perpetuity while providing opportunities for consumptive and non-consumptive outdoor activities.
