The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation are excited to announce the addition of two new parks to the Get Out and Fish! community fishing program this fall.
The Sherburne Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Shooting Ranges, including the rifle, pistol, archery and skeet ranges, will be closed on Mondays beginning Sept. 30. This weekly closure is being implemented to facilitate routine maintenance of the ranges.
The lingering effects of the 2019 record floodwaters on Louisiana’s aquatic life continue to be measured by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will conduct required lead removal at the Bodcau, Woodworth, Sherburne and Pearl River-Honey Island shooting ranges later this month and into October. Work at each shooting range will be coordinated to minimize impact to the public, however, some closures may be needed during the process.
Louisiana’s National Hunting and Fishing Day celebration, which is expected to draw several thousand children and adults, is set for Saturday, September 28, in four locations around the state.
