Description
A medium-sized dragonfly. Has a long, thin abdomen with dark brown and yellow bands. Approximately 2.5 inches long.
Range and Habitat
Found in central Louisiana and east Texas, near pitcher plant bogs and seepages.
Behavior
As a newly discovered species (2011), much of its behavior is not well known. Like other dragonflies, has an aquatic larval stage and flighted adults.
Population Status
Ranked globally as G1 (critically imperiled), ranked as S1 (critically imperiled) in Louisiana, due to its limited range and partially aquatic life cycle.
