Hunter Education Field Day - Rapides Parish

This format is recommended for students 14 years of age and older. This online with field day format consists of two parts: an online class that can be taken at the student’s own pace, followed by a 4-hour field-day class. The online portion of this course costs $29.95 through the online course provider. You MUST print, sign, and bring proof of online course completion with you to the field day.

The Field Day course is to ensure students can demonstrate proper firearm handling skills in a safe and respectful manner. Participants who complete and pass the field day training will be certified the same day with a temporary Hunter's Safety Education Certificate. A permanent certification will be emailed to the email address used at registration in approximately 2 weeks. Students are NOT to bring any firearms to the course. All firearms and other materials will be provided. Lunch will not be necessary for field day courses. Parents are asked to remain in their vehicles, or return to pick up their student after the class to allow seating for registered students. Parents will not be allowed into the classroom or on the range during instruction unless registered to take the class themselves.
