Additional Information
This home-study certification program is composed of two components: an online course followed by a mandatory 3-4 hour Field Day session. All participants must successfully complete the online component prior to attending the Field Day course and are required to present a printed and signed certificate of online completion at the time of attendance. The Field Day session is designed to assess each student’s ability to handle firearms safely and responsibly. Upon successful completion of this session, participants will receive a temporary Hunter Safety Education Certificate on the same day. A permanent certification will be emailed to the address provided during registration. Account Registration: All participants must register using their own individual accounts. If registering a minor, please ensure the registration is completed under the child’s personal account, not that of a parent or guardian. Attendance Policy: Full attendance is mandatory. Students must remain on site for the entire duration of the course. Departures for any reason—including, but not limited to, medical appointments—will result in disqualification from course completion. Affected students will be required to register for and attend a future session in full. Firearms and Course Materials: Students are strictly prohibited from bringing firearms to the course. All necessary firearms, eye and ear protection, and instructional materials will be provided on site by the instructors. Student are welcomed to bring their own eye and ear protection if they have it and wish to do so. Curriculum: The course includes a 50-question true/false examination and a live-fire exercise. Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 10 years of age by the final day of the course to be eligible for certification. Meals and Breaks: There will be no designated meal break during the course. Participants are advised to bring their own food, snacks, and beverages (water is available on site), and should plan accordingly. Emergency Contact Information: In the event of an emergency, please ensure that the participant—whether yourself or the individual you are registering—has a designated emergency contact number on file and readily available.
