This free boating course usually lasts between 6 and 8 hours. Participants usually complete the course in one day. The course includes information on choosing a boat, classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, and related subjects that include canoeing, personal watercraft and more. Participants who complete the course will receive a Boater Education Certificate.

A boating safety class will be held at Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Region 5 office at 1025 Tom Watson Road in Lake Charles. Class will begin at 8AM on 11/25/2023. A one-hour lunch period will be given, bring your own lunch. Please register for this class on-line.
