Description
Large bodied goose; Gray body with black legs, black bill, head, and neck, with white cheek patch that extends ventrally from one side of the fact to the other.
Range and Habitat
Giant/Resident Canada geese exist nation-wide, inhabiting aquatic and terrestrial habitats. Ponds/lakes are necessary for nighly roosting, but diurnal feeding may take place in habitats that range from small grain agricultural fields to lawns of parks, golf courses, or residences.
Behavior
Often aggressive during nesting or brood rearing, they are valiant defenders of young. Vociferous in flight. Feed by removing grains/seeds from the surface or grubbing grasses and roots of terrestrial plants or crops.

Stable, increasing
Hunting License Information
Basic hunting license or equivalent combination license (Sportsman Paradise). Waterfowl, HIP certification (18 years old and older). Federal Duck Stamp (16 years old and older) signed across the face, if hunting WMA then WMA Access Permit.
