REMINDER: Calcasieu Lake 2025-2026 Oyster Season to Close Thursday, April 30, 2026

Baton Rouge, La., Apr 20, 2026 - The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) would like to remind oyster harvesters that the public oyster areas within Calcasieu Lake will close at one-half hour after sunset on Thursday, April 30, 2026. With this closure, all public oyster areas in Louisiana will be closed and the 2025-2026 public oyster season will be concluded.
