The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has reopened the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) to hunting though some roads remain closed. The WMA was closed last week due to flooding.

Old Highway 11 and Indian Bayou Road are open. Poboy Road is closed past the upper end of Rolling Trail and Oil Well Road is closed. The Pearl River-Honey Island Shooting Range will remain closed until the roads that lead to it are open.

The Pearl River WMA, which consists of 35,618 acres, is located approximately six miles east of Slidell and approximately one mile east of Pearl River.
