This free boating course usually lasts between 6 and 8 hours. Participants usually complete the course in one day. The course includes information on choosing a boat, classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, and related subjects that include canoeing, personal watercraft and more. Participants who complete the course will receive a Boater Education Certificate.
Special Instructions
LDWF is offering a free, in-person boater education course that satisfies boater education requirements. The course lasts between 6 and 8 hours. A LDWF Law Enforcement Agent will instruct the course, which includes information on choosing a boat, classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, canoeing, personal watercraft, and more. To register, create an account and sign up for the course online. Once you complete the course, you will receive a temporary certificate. You will receive an official proof of completion email at a later date. ***A lunch break will be provided. Please make arrangements to bring your own lunch or make plans to eat somewhere local.
