This format is a 10-hour classroom course that is usually held over 2-3 days. We cover firearm and hunting safety, wildlife management principles, ethics, game identification and outdoor survival. Students must successfully complete a live-fire exercise with both formats. Firearms and ammunition are provided for the live-fire exercise so students should not bring their own.

Pointe Coupee Sheriff's office will be hosting a standard 2 day hunter education course in Morganza, LA. The course will be on Monday, June 29th from 8:00am-1:00pm and Tuesday, June 30th from 8:00am-1:00pm. The course location will be at the Communications Center in Morganza LA: 7011 Mitchell Ln.
