A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agent cited a New Orleans man for an alleged littering violation on May 31 in Orleans Parish.

Senior Agent Salvador Mangano cited Duy Nguyen, 33, for gross littering.

Senior Agent Mangano was on patrol when he observed a large trash pile in the Lake Forest area of New Orleans East.  He then found identifying material, which was subsequently linked to a household about three miles away.

Senior Agent Mangano made contact with the residents of the household and determined that Nguyen was taking clothing, furniture, boxes and other household items from the home and intentionally placing them in the Lake Forest area.  The trash pile spanned approximately 80 yards in length.

Gross littering carries up to a $900 fine, up to 30 days in jail and 16 hours of community service in a litter abatement program.
