Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited eight subjects for alleged migratory game bird hunting violations in two separate cases in Avoyelles Parish on Dec. 16 and 17.

Agents cited Dwayne Duplechin, 60, of Cottonport, Coly Duplechin, 36, of Plaucheville, and Glynn Guillory, 67, of Plaucheville, for hunting migratory game birds over a baited area on Dec. 16.

Agents cited John Guillot Sr., 63, John Guillot Jr., 36, Dustin Guillot, 24, Bert Guillot, 68, and Jason Lemoine, 50, all from the Plaucheville area, for hunting migratory game birds over a baited area on Dec. 17 on Lake Pearl.  Agents also cited Guillot Sr. for hunting without a basic hunting license and hunting without a state duck license.  Agents also cited Guillot Jr. and Bert Guillot for placing bait to take migratory game birds.

Agents setup surveillance on two duck hunting locations with bait in the area of two separate locations.  Agents witnessed the subjects actively hunting for migratory game birds over the baited areas.

Agents seized one duck from the subjects on Dec. 16.  Agents also seized 10 ducks from the subjects on Dec. 17.

Agents involved in the cases are Lt. John Volentine, Sgt. Derek Ware, Senior Agent Ryan Durand, Corporal Douglas Anderson Jr., and Agent Callie Pitre.

All federal cases for hunting migratory game birds over a baited area and placement of bait are filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution in Federal Court.  Hunting without a basic hunting license brings up to a $50 fine.  Hunting migratory game birds without a state duck license carries up to a $350 fine.
