Unforeseen mechanical issues and unfavorable weather conditions have decreased production on the beach restoration project being constructed by the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) at Elmer’s Island.  These unexpected delays have extended the Elmer’s Island closure by 7 days to September 6, 2016.
