The Grand Bayou boat launch at Pointe-aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area (WMA) has been reopened, however, Island Road launch remains closed, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced. Both launches, located at Point-aux-Chenes WMA, were closed last week because of flooding from Tropical Storm Cindy.
Island Road launch will be reopened once repairs are made.
Pointe-aux-Chenes WMA is located in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes, approximately 15 miles southeast of Houma. The 35,000-acre WMA is owned by LDWF. For more information on Pointe-aux-Chenes WMA, go to http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/2790 .
