Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents arrested a subject for active arrest warrants on Jan. 19 in Lafourche Parish.

Agents cited Paul J. Stein III, 39, of Galliano, for fishing without a fishing license and fishing while under a fishing license revocation. Agents also learned that Stein III had four active arrest warrants and booked him into the Lafourche Parish Criminal Justice Complex.

Agents were on patrol when they found Stein III actively fishing near the Catfish Lake Public Boat Launch. Agents made contact with Stein III and learned that he did not possess any fishing license and that he was under license revocation. At this time, agents also found that Stein III had active arrest warrants and he was detained.

Fishing while under license revocation carries up to a $350 fine. Fishing without a fishing license brings up to a $50 fine.
