The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has reopened all roads and trails in the southern portion of J.C. Sonny Gilbert Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The roads and trails providing access to the south end of the WMA from La. Hwy 8 have been inspected and deemed safe for travel.
 
J.C. Sonny Gilbert WMA is located in Catahoula Parish, north of La. Hwy 8 approximately six miles west of Sicily Island.
