The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will hold an administrative public hearing on amendments made to the 2020-21 hunting season rules and regulations Monday (April 20) at 10 a.m. via Zoom webinar.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic and Governor John Bel Edwards’ stay at home order, LDWF will hold this meeting via webinar.
To participate via webinar you can register at: https://wlf-la.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_u4-4fVsBRnO8BSwyXHY-6Q
Public comment can be made on the following amendments to the notice of intent for the 2020-21 hunting season, rules and regulations made by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) during its February and March meetings:
- Ban the sale of untested deer urine products in Louisiana. Current regulations prohibit the possession and use of untested deer urine products in Louisiana. This amendment would also ban the sale of untested deer urine products in Louisiana. These actions are part of the LDWF and LWFC’s efforts to prevent chronic wasting disease (CWD) from entering the state.
- Alter dove hunting season dates in the South Zone for 2020-21. The first split will be held from Sept. 5-16, the second split from Oct. 17-Nov. 29 and the third split from Dec. 19, 2020 - Jan. 21, 2021.
- Allow UTVs on LDWF Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Physically Challenged Hunter Permit (PCHP) trails. The amendment will allow for the use of ATVs and UTVs on these trails.
You may be prompted to download software for your computer or smart phone when joining the meeting. Please be sure to join several minutes early to account for this additional step.
