The Louisiana Outdoors Forever (LOF) Project Selection Board is pleased to announce its third funding cycle for conservation projects. The pre-application window opens Monday, November 24, 2025, and will close on January 23, 2026. The total LOF Funds for this cycle are $1,078,650.

In the initial two rounds of funding, 18 projects were selected by the Project Selection Board with criteria scoring provided by the Technical Advisory Board. LOF has awarded $10,921,350 and brought an additional $32.19 million to Louisiana.

2023 Funding Cycle Results:

13 projects
LOF Awarded: $10 million
Matching Funds: $27.9 million
2023 Cycle Total: $37.9 million

2025 Funding Cycle Results:

5 projects
LOF Awarded: $921,350
Matching Funds: $4.29 million
2025 Cycle Total: $5.21 million

The 2026 Funding Cycle will utilize the $1 million in funding provided by the legislature during the 2025 legislative session and $78,650 unallocated in the 2025 Funding Cycle. The total LOF Funds available are $1,078,650. 

The Louisiana Outdoors Forever program is intended to help Louisiana projects gain a competitive edge by providing additional funding or match to maximize other grant applications. It is therefore envisioned to serve as a matching source for other state or federal funding. Projects selected should expand the footprint of conservation in the state, restore valuable habitat, provide for land management, and enhance public access.

Preference will be given to projects based on how well they meet the scoring criteria, but the Project Selection Board will also consider the dollars the project will bring to Louisiana. Eligible applicants and project types are below:
