LWFC Approves DE to Modify Extended Falconry Duck Season for 2026-27
Baton Rouge, - The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) approved a Declaration of Emergency to modify the extended falconry duck season for 2026-27. The action came during the Commission’s June meeting Tuesday (June 2) in Baton Rouge.
The date alterations are to accommodate the experimental black-bellied whistling duck season that will be held in October while maintaining consistency with federal regulation for the number of waterfowl hunter exposure days.
The East Zone season will run from Nov. 5-Nov. 20 and Dec. 7-18. The West Zone will from Nov. 5-Nov. 13, Dec. 7-Dec. 18 and Jan. 25-Jan. 31, 2027.
