Oil Well Road on Pearl River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) has been closed to motor vehicles due to damage from recent flooding, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced. All other roads on the WMA are open.
The use of ATVs and UTVs is still permitted on Oil Well Road. Once repairs are made, the road will be reopened to all traffic.
Pearl River WMA, which consists of 35,618 acres, is located approximately six miles east of Slidell and one mile east of Pearl River in St. Tammany Parish. For more information, go to http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/2789.
