Skeet Range #2 and the 50-yard pistol range at Sherburne Wildlife Management Area (WMA) shooting range will be closed to the public Oct. 25 for a Louisiana High School Rodeo Association shooting sports qualifying competition, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced.
These ranges will reopen Oct. 26 at sunrise.
The rifle, archery and skeet range #1 will remain open and available for public use as normal.
The shooting range is located at 1132 Sherburne Road in Lottie, three miles south of U.S. Highway 190 on Louisiana Highway 975 on the Sherburne WMA.
LDWF also reminds Sherburne WMA and range users that access to the WMA is currently being impacted by Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development bridge (DOTD) replacements on Louisiana Highway 975. Users should refer to the DOTD closure announcement for details:
