Several roads remain closed at the Richard K. Yancey Wildlife Management Area (WMA) due to flooding, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LWDF) announced. The closures include Hog Pen Lake Road, Dobbs Bay Road, Union Point Road, Lincecum Road, Blackhawk Road, Blount Road, Wycoff Road, Ross Road, Silver Lake Road, Sunk Lake Road, Catfish Bayou Road and Lac A Sostein Road.

The WMA will remain open for turkey hunting season. However, users are asked to comply with road closures deemed necessary to ensure safety and prevent road damage.

Increasing water levels in associated river systems and heavy rainfall has caused flooding on these thoroughfares. Once the water recedes, LDWF will inspect, repair, and reopen the roads if deemed safe for travel.

Richard K. Yancey WMA is located approximately 35 miles south of Ferriday on Louisiana Highway 15 in lower Concordia Parish.
