Two new fishing piers/boat docks will open on Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge on Saturday (May 23), including the Unit 4 and Mud Hole Structure fishing piers on Penzoil Canal, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced.

The project is being funded by the Louisiana Trustee Implementation Group (LA TIG) to restore for public recreational opportunity impacted by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.    The construction of the project is being implemented by the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority in partnership with LDWF.
