Event Information

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, with support of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation, will once again host our annual National Hunting and Fishing Day (NHFD) event across four locations statewide on Saturday, September 26th , 2026.

National Hunting and Fishing Day (NHFD) is a Nationwide event that takes place annually on the 4^th Saturday of September. NHFD offers an opportunity for the public to step outdoors and enjoy a sampling of the amazing recreational opportunities this great state has to offer in a safe, family-friendly and educational environment. NHFD is our agency's largest public event with four locations throughout the state.
