Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a subject for allegedly illegally selling fish in Lafourche Parish on Jan. 9.

Agents cited Christopher Harris Jr., 30, of Thibodaux, for selling fish caught recreationally.

Agents obtained a social media post from Harris advertising the sale of cleaned and bagged red drum and speckled trout on Dec. 21, 2025.

Agents were able to make contact with Harris on Jan. 9 at his residence and learned he was selling fish he caught with his recreational fishing license.

Agents also found that Harris had an active arrest warrant out of Lafourche Parish. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office arrived to the scene, arrested Harris, and booked him into the Lafourche Parish Criminal Justice Complex.

Selling fish caught recreationally brings a $400 to $950 fine and up to 120 days in jail.

Agents participating in this case are Corporal Austin Anderson and Corporal Cody Salpietra.
