This free boating course usually lasts between 6 and 8 hours. Participants usually complete the course in one day. The course includes information on choosing a boat, classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, and related subjects that include canoeing, personal watercraft and more. Participants who complete the course will receive a Boater Education Certificate.

BOATING EDUCATION! Sponsor for this course is: The Tammany Yacht Club. Tammany Yacht Club will be providing a hamburger and hotdog lunch during a one-hour break period. This NASBLA course is required by law to be taken by any individual, born after January 1, 1984, operating a boat on Louisiana public waterways. A permanent certification will be emailed after the successful completion of the course. Also check with your marine insurance company for any eligible discounts that may be applied after successful completion of the course. Sign up today!! Must been at least 10 years of age to complete the course. Students are encouraged to bring SERVICABLE lifejackets that are not currently being used to trade or donate to the life jacket drive.
