Hunter Ed Class - Calcasieu

This format is a 10-hour classroom course that is usually held over 2-3 days. We cover firearm and hunting safety, wildlife management principles, ethics, game identification and outdoor survival. Students must successfully complete a live-fire exercise with both formats. Firearms and ammunition are provided for the live-fire exercise so students should not bring their own.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office will be hosting a 10-hour Hunter Education Course. Sheriff Stitch Guillory will provide lunch for the class. This is a 10-hour course, students needing only a field day will not be allowed to register. Students must be 10 years old by the completion of the course to be certified; younger students may attend but will have to retake course after they turn 10 years old. LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED ON JUNE 16th.
