Courses are taught by LDWF Education Program staff and volunteer instructors. The majority of courses are taught by volunteers who donate their time to teach hunter education. Volunteers undergo background checks and receive training and oversight from LDWF staff. Requirements for Becoming a Hunter Education Instructor • Be of reputable character • Attend a 12 hour instructor training course • Complete livefire exercises • Pass a written exam • Undergo a criminal background check • Teach or assist in teaching one course every 24 months.
Additional Information
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will be holding a Hunter Education Instructor's Course. All who wish to get certified must be able to pass a background check and attend both days of the course. LDWF will provide snacks, beverages, and lunch on Saturday the 16th.
