Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a Larose man for commercial fishing violations on Oct. 6 in Lafourche Parish.

Agents cited Colbert Bouvier II, 46, for 24 counts of failing to report commercial fisheries data.

Agents began investigating the Bouvier’s sale of Louisiana blue crabs without reporting on Aug. 14.

The subject was allegedly selling with a fresh products license.  Commercial fishermen selling with a fresh products license are required to send monthly the amount of sales to LDWF.  During the investigation, agents learned that Bouvier was selling commercial fish for eight years without reporting.

Failing to report fisheries data brings a $250 to $500 fine and up to 90 days in jail.

Agents participating in the case are Corporal Norman Deroche, Senior Agent Richard Bean, Corporal Brett Nabors and Sgt. Edward Ridgel.
