Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a Harahan man for alleged charter guide violations on Feb. 18 in St. Bernard Parish.

Agents cited Randall Shaw Jr, 37, for failing to abide by charter guide rules and regulations and not having boat numbers or an active decal on his vessel.

Agents were on patrol in Bayou Terre Aux Bouefs in St. Bernard Parish when Shaw was seen operating an unregistered vessel approaching a local marina.  Agents stopped Shaw and inquired about the unregistered vessel.

During the inspection, Shaw was found to be on an active charter trip with paying customers and was not in possession of a state charter guide license.  Records show that Shaw has not possessed a state charter guide license since 2018 or the required insurance to operate a charter guide service.

Failing to comply with charter guide regulations carries up to a $2,850 fine and 120 days in jail.  Not having boat numbers or an active decal on his vessel carries up to a $100 fine.

Agents participating in this case are Corporal Blaine Wagner, Sgt. Jason Gernados, Corporal Gary Pierce and Sgt. Kyle Wagner.
