Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents have rescued 37 people to date from flooded areas in Webster Parish.

On March 8 around 10:30 p.m. two LDWF agents rescued five people in Doyline and brought them to the Doyline Fire Station.

On the morning of March 9 LDWF agents rescued seven more people in Doyline.  Agents also rescued two people in Minden, six people in Sibley, 12 people in Heflen and three people off of Penal Farm Road just northeast of Sibley.

On March 9 in the early afternoon hours LDWF agents with assistance from the LDWF Fisheries Division rescued two people off of Interstate 20 at the Webster Parish and Bienville Parish line.

LDWF agents assisted the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office with evacuations in the Charmingdale Community and Prairie Road Community in South Ouachita Parish.  LDWF agents also assisted the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office with evacuations for residents of Rayville.

Agents also assisted West Carroll Parish with transporting nurses to the West Carroll Hospital who were unable to cross high water to reach the West Carroll Hospital facilities.

Agents will remain on alert and be ready for further search and rescue activities until the flood waters recede.
