Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Secretary Tyler Bosworth recently attended the Make America Beautiful Again (MABA) Commission’s kickoff event in Washington D.C, to celebrate the signing of MABA and engage in policy and grant discussions to advance the mission of LDWF.
Louisiana was the only state invited and represented at the event, which brought together a wide range of federal and nonprofit conservation partners and featured remarks from U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Secretary Doug Burgum.
“We are honored to have been invited to this historic event and proud to represent Louisiana as the only state delegation in attendance,” said Secretary Bosworth. “The Make America Beautiful Again Commission’s mission and vision align with our commitment to enhancing conservation, increasing public access, and improving outdoor recreational opportunities for the people of Louisiana.”
Invited by Nature is Nonpartisan, a Washington, D.C.-based conservation policy group, the event provided an important platform for Secretary Bosworth and newly appointed Assistant Secretary of Wildlife Tommy Tuma to engage in meaningful policy discussions with Secretary Burgum and DOI staff, as well as explore potential grant opportunities with key partners, including the U.S. Department of the Interior, Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, Ducks Unlimited, Inc., National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Nature is Non Partisan, and other conservation leaders.
LDWF looks forward to continued collaboration with DOI, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and our national and NGO partners to advance the restoration, conservation, and accessibility of America’s public lands, waters, and outdoor heritage.
