The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is looking to fill two student worker positions at the Waddill Wildlife Refuge and Outdoor Education Center in Baton Rouge. Students must maintain full-time student status at an accredited college or university to be eligible for student employment. Full-time status will be verified every semester.
Successful applicants will work alongside LDWF biologists in the education section. Primary job duties will be facility/grounds maintenance, such as mowing grass, weed eating and trail upkeep.
Students will also assist with educational programs such as Hunter Education, Archery in Louisiana Schools, Families Understand Nature (FUN) Camp and National Hunting and Fishing Day. Students must be presentable, have good written and verbal communication skills, be able to follow instruction and be reliable.
Student workers are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during school and up to 40 hours per week during school breaks. The pay is $10 per hour. Successful applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
