The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) approved a Notice of Intent (NOI) for changes to the Scenic Rivers Program, which is administered by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF). The action came Tuesday (July 8) during the LWFC’s July meeting in Baton Rouge.
Among the changes would be to expedite the permitting process, including the establishment of general permits, and clarify selective harvesting of trees within the 100-foot buffer of a Scenic River.
